How do I assign a property?

Welcome! 👋 Here you’ll learn how role and location properties are assigned individually and in bulk.

Assign with invitation

Assign properties during the invitation process using either of the two methods:

📧 Email invite

When inviting learners, you can choose properties from the dropdown menus Role and Location .

  1. Go to Learners page on the LMS
  2. Tap the Invite learner at the right
  3. Select the option Send an invite
  4. Search for the name of the role to assign the Role property
  5. Click on the arrow on the right to select a Location property from the ones created

💡 Note: To see how to create a Location property you can check this article.

📥Upload CSV

When inviting learners from a CSV, you can choose properties from the dropdown menus Role and Location .

  1. Go to Learners page on the LMS
  2. Tap the Invite learner at the right
  3. Select the option Upload CSV
  4. Search for the name of the role to assign the Role property
  5. Click on the arrow on the right to select a Location property from the ones created

💡 Note: To see how to create a Location property you can check this article.

⚠️Warning: Role cells must match our database in order to be assigned. For example, if you want to assign the QA Analyst role to a user, the sheet has to contain exactly this name. Here you can check the list of default roles.

Assign to existing learners

👤Individual

From the profile

  1. Go to Learners page
  2. Select the learner from the list or search by name or email using the search box on the right
  3. At the learner page, tap the button Edit , on the right of the Properties menu at the right of the page
  4. Done! There you can:
    1. Assign,
    2. Change or
    3. Remove the properties of a specific learner by selecting the option No property

💡Remember to always click on the Save button after making the changes and assignments

From the learner table

  1. Go to Learners page
  2. Select a learner from the list by clicking on the check box at the left of the learner’s name
  3. The action bar will open. Select the last option called Edit properties
  4. Done! There you can:
    1. Assign,
    2. Change or
    3. Remove the properties of a specific learner by selecting the option No property

💡Remember to always click on the Save button after making the changes and assignments

👥Bulk

From learner table

  1. Go to Learners page
  2. Select multiple learners in the table by clicking on the check box at the left of the learner’s name
  3. The action bar will open. Select the last option called Edit properties
  4. Done! There you can:
    1. Assign,
    2. Change or
    3. Remove the properties of a specific learner by selecting the option No property

💡 Remember to always click on the Save button after making the changes and assignments

⚠️Warning: Updating a property for multiple learners overwrites the existing property.

From settings page

  1. Go to Properties , at the Settings menu on the LMS
  2. Tap the button Bulk assign properties at the right
  3. Choose the method:
    1. Paste details: Here you’ll need to paste or write the emails and select the information/properties by hand. Note that by doing this you’ll be assigning the same role/location for all the users you select.
    2. Upload CSV: Here you’ll only need to select the file with the information.

⚠️Warning 1: Role cells must match our database in order to be assigned. For example, if you want to assign the QA Analyst role to a user, the sheet has to contain exactly this name. Here you can check the list of default roles.

⚠️Warning 2: In this case, the learners must already exist in the organization.

💡 Note: to remove the property of multiple learners at the same time, follow the same process of assigning properties by using a CSV file. However, instead of the location or role names, the columns must contain No [property] or simply be left in blank. Check the example bellow:

Name Email Group Role Location
Emily emily@slangapp.com Slangers No [property] No [property]
Isabella isabella@slangapp.com Slangers No [property] No [property]
